When you've transformed a rescued house into something wonderful, it helps if you know someone who can record the results on video.

Lucily for Muriel Watson her husband is a photographer and was able to produce this beautiful film of the Rennie Mackintosh house Muriel created.

Muriel had been after a house like this for a long while, but it had been discontinued by Dolls House Emporium. Then she happened to come across an advert in Gumtree, with this house for sale. Not only that, it was in her home town in the North East of Scotland. What serendipity.

Within two hours she had emailed the seller and driven across town to see the house.

On her blog, Muriel recalled: "The big problem was the condition of the house. It had been bought for a ten year old child and basically never been appreciated. It was painted a lurid pink colour - so beloved of 9 year old girls.  The arch above the front door was broken and the inside decoration had to be seen to be believed.  One room was decorated with Manchester United football club wallpaper and another with pink and silver Playboy paper. The roof paper was peeling off and it was a sad, neglected looking house."

But Muriel took the plunge and, with a lot of effort and skill on her part, coupled with a huge amount of determination tracking down relevant furniture and accessories, she transformed the house into this wonderful example.
